Development and improvement of the local cultural tourism product and sustainable use of heritage, but also more accessible and inclusive use of the offer through the creation of a European network. These are just some of the points of the Action Plan developed within the international project called “Emoundergrounds”, also signed by the Municipality of Carpi.
Part of the European program ADRION 2014-2020, which invests in regional innovation systems applied to local cultural heritage, the Emoundergrounds project (conclusion in 2022) involves castles and fortresses of some European regions bordering the Adriatic and Ionian seas. Representing the Municipality of Carpi (which has been allocated 360,000 euros of funding) is the Palazzo dei Pio, at the center of a series of interventions on the Sala del Guerriero and the Torrione degli Spagnoli (future home of the reception service and tourist information InCarpi and new emotional paths in 3D). The works, carried out in collaboration with the Department of Cultural Heritage of the University of Padua, will inaugurate a new idea of usability of the Palace and the cultural and productive sites of the territory, thanks also to the exchange of communication and promotion actions in the transnational network of the project, through the creation of a strategic plan developed by Orange Public Management.
